Fertility Improvement Programme ( F I P Programme)
 
   
 

Similar to our NECO project, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd has decided to run FIP programme in all associate unions. There has been inclusion of milch cattle not yielding milk along with adult underproductive cow / buffalo heifers. Objective was to organize Infertility Prevention Camps every 45 days interval in every villages selected underneath this programme. 110 villages are considered for inclusion in our district. Three camps have been accomplished and fourth camp is under progress. All relevant information have to be furnished through internet, and results of this scheme can be seen from any place in the world.

FIP programme Animal Fertility Improvement programme, similar to Sumul Dairy's NECO project has been launched by GCMMF became operating since 2007-08. In this programme, we have put up 13099 animal from 110 milk societies, in which non pregnant non milking animals along with infertile heifers have been accommodated, and here also 2 packs of De-worming Feed, 5kg Mineral Mixture Powder and 3 bags of Sumul Cattle Feed was given free. Four FIP camps were arranged through which 10767 became pregnant, thus, 82.2% results was achieved, which is highest in the Gujarat.

After this FIP 1, FIP-2 has become operative and 150 milk societies have been covered up, through which 15000 non pregnant animal have been accommodated. In order to see that animals do not remain empty and to reduce times span between two parturitions Productivity Enhancement Programme (PEP) programme for milk yielding capacity enhancement of animals will be taken up. It has been decided that 50 villages covered up in FIP- 1 programme shall be included in this programme; all scientific efforts will be made in such villages, to ensure that such under-productive animals do not get born henceforth.
